Kanbay International CEO Raymond Spencer Honored with Chicago Immigrant Achievement Award
ROSEMONT, IL.–March 11, 2004–Raymond J. Spencer, Chairman & CEO of Kanbay International and an Australian immigrant, was awarded the Chicago Immigrant Achievement Award on March 11, 2004 by the American Immigration Law Foundation. The Foundation is a non-profit, educational, charitable organization dedicated to increasing public understanding of immigration law and policy, communicating the value of immigration to American society and advancing fundamental fairness and due process under the law for immigrants.
Arriving in the United States in 1969, Spencer worked with the Institute of Cultural Affairs for more than 20 years. During this time, he built a strong international and multi-cultural vision for his current endeavor, Kanbay, founded in 1989. Under Spencer's leadership, Kanbay has grown to be one of the leading global providers of information technology, services and solutions to the financial services industry, channeling international business and enterprise intelligence to promote a global society. Spencer, a member of the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, accepted his award at a ceremony held at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, said, "I am deeply honored to receive this award and would like to accept it on behalf of the millions of people who have come to this city, state and nation from all parts of the globe.
