Kanbay believes in hiring lifelong learners and providing an infrastructure that enables continuous learning and growth. We have a team of training and development professionals who are dedicated to providing learning across all Kanbay locations and meeting the needs of our clients, our associates and our company. We invest approximately 1% of annual revenues in training.
Kanbay Training Programs
We use proprietary training programs to help our associates build competencies in specific technologies, our core industries and general business skills. Kanbay utilizes a holistic approach to training which doesn’t just focus on IT or domain knowledge but also covers ‘soft skills’ like selling techniques, consulting and business writing.
Fresher Learning Program
Our Fresher Learning Programs (FLPs) are our flagship programs which help us quickly onboard new associates and ramp-up for large projects. Using the FLPs, we build specialists across four tracks: mainframe, web, business intelligence and testing. The FLPs run 6-10 weeks and combine classroom learning with 80-90 hours of real-world project work to jump start your career at Kanbay.
Practice or Account-Specific Programs
To support our practices and client accounts, Kanbay provides bridge programs to bridge the gap FLPs and project needs focused towards specific tools and technologies. Core client accounts have structured onboarding training as a formal approach for new associates. For example, when joining the client team for a large global bank, you will receive domain training on that specific client’s business operations as well as technology training on the client’s intranet and infrastructure, architecture and recommended IT practices.
Domain Training
Using a blend of instructor-led classroom training and eLearning, we support our industry focus with domain training for Financial Services, Consumer Packaged Goods and Life Sciences. Our Financial Services training includes separate courses on banking, securities and investments and insurance.
On the Job Mentoring
Experienced Kanbay associates serve as mentors for new associates during induction and initial project work. Especially on client teams, mentors help clarify tasks and monitor progress of new team members.
Leadership Programs
Kanbay associates aren’t just developers, we actively consult with our clients on their projects. To enhance our consulting capabilities and build the next generation of Kanbay leaders, we offer a comprehensive programs to enhance communication skills, business knowledge and leadership capabilities.
Kanbay Global Learning Center
Kanbay’s Global Learning Center (GLC) is located in Pune, India and serves as the global hub for learning activities at Kanbay. Our facility is 152,000 sq feet, can simultaneously train 1,000 associates, and is home to state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment to support virtual connection and high quality training across the globe.

- 3 Multipurpose halls with seating capacity of 75 each

Kanbay realizes that training is a unique experience for every associate and that each person learns in their own unique way. We support a variety of training methods to give associates the best opportunity to meet their career aspirations.
- Regional Infrastructure: In addition to the GLC, we have dedicated learning infrastructure at all India locations and in some US locations.
- eLearning: We leverage expertise available worldwide through our eLearning infrastructure. All Kanbay associates have access to over 1,800 online learning courses through our alliance with Mind Leaders.
- Certifications: Kanbay believes in supporting recognized skills certification since it provides external validation for our expertise. We provide incentives to associates to complete certifications which support our company and our clients.
- Alliances: Kanbay has formed partnerships with leading industry associations and technology firms to provide world class training and educational support to our associates. Our partners include LOMA, IBM, Oracle, ASG and Microsoft.
- Learning Management System: Our learning activities are supported by iLearning, an Oracle learning management system which provides metrics. This helps us measure, monitor and improve our learning initiatives.
